Default New S Class interior

I believe Mercedes Benz has lost the plot, if you take the star off the steering wheel you would have no idea what car you are sitting. Not a hint of Mercedes in that cabin.

It could be another brand as Helmet so rightly points out. There is nothing particularly appealing to me about the digital dash in the new MB products - and I wonder how they will fare once they are a few years old. Generally an iPad lasts 3 or 4 years and the same with a PC so will it be necessary to replace a digital instrument panel after a few years of ownership? They won't be repairable so replacement seems the only way forward.
As technology changes rapidly will expensive cars become obsolete just because the touchscreens are no longer available?
It's one thing to replace a broken gear in an analogue speedo but another thing entirely to fix a digital interface. Progress?
Regards,
Brian

They are not really playing to their strengths if they are trying to copy Tesla.
I think the buyer of the S Class is looking for something different.

Mercedes currently command a premium price, but you don't get to premium price by copying the competition.

Although I'm troubled by the repairability of these things in as little as perhaps 10 years time, I also lament the chopped up appearance of a few "pasted on" screens. Gone are the sweeping curves and feel of luxe.

Maybe I should just save the words and say "I don't care for it".
