Good evening,

You were right what you said about Shannon's Michel!

The Porsche Speedster sold for $411,000

The E-Type sold for $134,000 and the Ford Cortina sold for $56,000

The 7:30 program featured the Shannon's auction on the program this evening.

Have a terrific weekend.

E-Type missing trim that is a bit cheeky no mention of that from Shannon's!

Did the E-Type need any repairs do you know C107?

I didn't have a close look but most of the chrome was off, so probably a fresh respray. I think they overpaid.

I work near the shannons auction center so went to have a quick look. Didnt look as closely tgis time as i had my daughter with me.

E-Type Jag sounds like it requires deep pockets to maintain?

You are right about the E type I suffered with for about a Year helmet. When I was young and foolish !
Jaguar ownership has been described as a demonstration to the neighbours as to your ability to withstand any Financial Pain !

All this talk about financial problems with E-Type Jags.

It's been like this with any British cars I have ever owned.

However, call me a glutton for punishment, I am still aiming to have an E-Type in my garage one day in the near future.

They are not as bad as many of the stories would lead you to think. Especially as they are no longer in use as a primary car.

A lot of the worst stories come from cheap neglected cars in the 70s when they were worth very little.

It will fail in more surprising ways than a benz. A few years ago coming down the great western highway i found myself holding the gearstick that was no longer attached to the car.

They were built to a price and a neglected car will always be a moneypit. But a good one will be ok. Good does not mean concours as they need to be driven

My mechanic drives one and swears by its reliability. Mind you he should: he's rebuilt it a few times...

Brian

Having at one point owned a series 3 V12 I can vouch that your wallet and sanity are soon departed. And if not careful it will even rake your soul. Makes 6.9 ownership look like a cake walk. Buti did love that car.
