Reading this Drive.com.au article about Mercedes trashing a replica Gullwing PLEASE tell me this is NOT true?!

Well it must be true because the article is featured on the Net.

I am SHOCKED to hear this and sorry guys photos of the replica Gullwing being dismantled may upset you!

If the Chinese decide to copy 10,000 of them, there is going to be a lot of cars to crush, with a lot of people in various countries using the courts in those countries trying to prevent it.

They copy everything else, most of which is not destroyed.

Mind you, I wouldn't mind a near copy of a Ford GT40, even Ford do those!

I was thinking something similar; that looks magnificent! How much does that translate to in Aussie dollars? Whilst tin worm wouldn't be an issue, termites might be cause for concern! Would you even get it past customs? I'd imagine it'd have to be fumigated at considerable cost....

A$7,500. Pretty cheap for the amount of work. Should be OK for termites being made from Teak, but yes, it would either need to be sealed with a clear coat, or be fumigated to be allowed in.
