Hi Lukas, that's a great write-up, isn't it? As it were, straight from the horse's mouth. I found one observation of interest - it referred to the 'lack of soul and driver involvement'. That's an important aspect on my part of car ownership. I need a bit of 'oomph'. a bit of noise, a bit of something that actually makes you realize that YOU are doing something 'with' and 'to' the car. Hence my love of a slightly masculine muffler involvement of Gleaming Beauty. The colours of the car tested here, both in and out, are nothing short of sensational. Regards Styria
N.B. Also take note of the footrests in the rear of the car - we have copied them for several owners, including Matt and E200K, both members of TK. |

The article popped up on a blog I read just after Tim bought his - is an interview with the owner.
To be honest, I don't like either of the colours - the exterior is OK, but the inside is just bland and beige (figuratively) to me. The wheels also seem excessive, but of course each to their own. Excellent condition though. Re the footrests, they're just a carpeted wedge of rigid foam aren't they? The 6.9's ones seem like that. Head down to Clark Rubber and get the scissors out Tim! ![]() |

Lukas, the foot rests are timber framed and carpeted. If you were dealing with a foam only item, they would be unsupportive and move about too much. Plus, you still need the original Mercedes carpet and the appropriate colour - that's if you want to do things properly. Both Matt and E200K fall into the last category. If one really has acar in commensurate good condition, spending money on those footrests raises the bar a little higher still. Regards Styria

Midnight blue 300SE may no longer be for sale as I spoke to Wife of the owner of the 300SE and sadly her Husband passed away. Not sure what the future is the for the 300SE featured for sale on the MBCCC website. The colour of the footrests for sale do not match the interior colour of my 300SE unfornately! |

Im not sure the footrests work as well in an SE Tim, I think they are more suited to the longer wheelbase models.

Tony, they fit nicely even in a swb version. The ones in the car owned by E200K we made ourselves, exactly to original specs. Regards Styria

IF I was to contemplate such a thing id probably talk to Styria about a set first considering the interior colour scheme of my cars. But honestly? I think a set of rubber bucket mats would be more appropriate. |
