Default 116 mud flaps

The mud flaps on my 6.9 are looking a bit tatty and I would like to replace them. Have looked on the net but even though there are heaps of Mercedes mud flaps I could not find any for a116 with the mn star on them. Anyone got an idea where I might get a set.

Hello Aussie6.9,

The 300SE use to have two different types of mudflaps on the front & back.

Since sold the front mudflaps.

MB Spares took off the rear set that was four years ago who's know they might still have them?

Why not try contacting one of the local Mercedes wreckers?

Good luck with the search for the mudflaps Aussie6.9

If you went to MB in the late 70s or 80s asking for a set they sold you a W123 set which were black with white MB emblems on them. On the flaps themselves they are marked 123 front and 123 rear, but on the plastic bag they came with were marked W123/116 mud flap set.

In addition I have also seen these fitted to W114/115 I've seen at the wreckers.

I don't think there was ever a 116-specific set and the 123 set fit and look good on my 6.9

Hope this helps,

Ian.

Hello,

This is an older post but looking to revive it!

Read the last post clarifying non W116 specific mudflaps.

Am also looking for replacement rear mudflaps should anyone in recent times had luck procuring a set?

Happy W116 motoring!

Bram

I can confirm that I had a 6.9 with mudflaps which I took off and sold. When I removed them I was surprised to find they were W123 items. I heard something similar from the buyer that they never made W116 mudflaps. Not that unusual since there's other factory fitted W123 parts incorporated into a W116.
