Re: Car of the week

Yes, I must admit that it made the trip pretty comfortable, considering it is a 17 year old car. Stopped once each way for 15 minutes to top up the fuel.

Re: Car of the week

Yes, still got everything - except the VW Passat. Sold that to buy the W220 as a daily. Just drove it to Brisbane and back. Averaged 8.5lt/100km over the return journey. How things have changed !

Re: Car of the week

I bought a 320 as well, but it's a W140 long wheel base. Late one - 1997 build, 1998 model year.

And a S350 W220 and another C107 - this time a 350.

Re: Another 107 joins the stable

In general, the other one needs a bit more work, but it is in great shape. I recently changed the rear bumper as it had always had a ding in it when the previous owner backed into a pole, but I...

Re: Another 107 joins the stable

Interior is in very good shape. Has the original Becker Mexico, wood is all good, dash is not cracked, and the central locking works perfectly.

Small amount of rust around the right front jacking...

Another 107 joins the stable

Bought this reasonably recently. Was part of a deceased estate. Former owner was a doctor, and had owned the car for at least the past 25 years. Car was an English import at some stage. Mileage is...

Re: 1955 300B Pininfarina

Speaking of 300b's, I finally managed to get up to Brisbane and to reinstall the water pump. For those unaware of the location of an Adenauer water pump, it is located in the centre of the block, and...

Re: 6.9 # 7114 - it lives !

No progress at all ! I do however need to get on to it this year and get it sorted. Need to rebuild the front struts and have it repainted. Otherwise, not too much else. Rego is due so I need to get...

Re: 2018 CARnivale

Yes, pretty disappointing. Spent less than 2 hours there. 3 Mercedes - a W108, and 2 x W116 - one of which a Crayford. Should have gone to Darling Harbour.

Re: 300SEL - 6.3 Ignition Key

Reminds me of the time I locked the keys in the roundie boot. Not having a spare with me (the spare was in Turkey so a bit far to go), I was lucky enough to come across a security guard with a bunch...

Re: Get togather

Rather than start another thread, thought I would add to this one. No time to work on cars recently, what with work and travel, but the buying hasn't abated.

I bought another DKW - this time a...
